Memorial Ceremony

Attending the Peace Memorial Ceremony held every year on the morning of August 6th 
was an outstanding experience. 
At 8:15 am, when the temple bell sounded, we offered our silent prayer to the victims of A-Bomb




.In these six days of study, the students, faculties, and speakers
 shared their thoughts on "Peace." 
Recognizing that we must be the example of powerful message of peace in our global society.

"Global Studies, Peace & Leadership" was the theme of the summer seminar held in Hiroshima Jogakuin University, August 3 to 9, 2012 under sponsorship of the Wesley Foundation. Seminar participants and speakers including representative came from USA, Philippines, Malaysia, Vietnam, India, and Japan.



 One remarkable event was a panel consisting of Mr. Clifton Daniel Truman, the grandson of former USA president, Harry Truman, Mr. Ali Beezer, the grandson of the Enola Gay pilot, Mr. Masahiro Sasaki,m brother of Sadako who died from the radiation related illness and well known for folding thousands of paper cranes, and Mr. Yuuji Sasaki, Sadako's nephew. They shared their points of view about peace aimed especially to younger generation.

 In these six days of study, the students, faculties, and speakers shared their thoughts on "Peace." Recognizing that we must be the example of powerful message of peace in our global society.

This Year's Seminar


As was last year, there will be a peace seminar held in Hiroshima which Wesley Foundation is supporting.
This year's seminar in Hiroshima will be from August 3rd to 8th mainly at Hiroshima Jogakuin University. Main guest speakers will include Mr. Clifton Truman Daniel, the eldest grandson of Harry S. Truman, the 33rd US President and Ari Mayer Beser, whose grandfather was the only office who was on board on B29 for bombing both Hiroshima and Nagasaki as an officer in charge of radar operation.


A talk session will be held at Hiroshima Jogakuin University participated by the above guests with  Mr. Sasaki from Hiroshima whose aunt, Sadako Sasaki,  was a young victim of Hiroshima Atomic Bomb.

The peace seminar is a part of comprehensive peace learning project including service field works in either Thailand or India.

Lots of achievements through the seminar
